Reasons To Buy A Ps4 2017

We'll take a look at the premium models from both these video game giants today and talk about why the Xbox One X is the better choice. Here are 5 reasons why you should buy an Xbox One X this holiday season.

reasons to buy a ps4 2017

For the reasons listed above, the Xbox One X is a great purchase and will future-proof your gaming investment. But ultimately, I think you'll be okay with any decision you make. I own all these consoles and enjoy each and every one.

Since launching in March 2017, the Nintendo Switch has taken the mantle as the must-have console for playing the best games. This is the No. 1 reason to buy the Switch: It's the only place to play the best available games.

Crucially, "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" is a perfect game to play alone or with friends. The vast majority of the time I've spent with the game has been sitting next to my wife, playing together online against the world. Since the game came out in late April 2017, it's been a recurring delight in my apartment.

I've written another list with all the reasons to buy an Xbox One X instead of a PS4 Pro which you can read here. Ultimately, both these systems are excellent, though neither is worth upgrading to unless you have a 4K TV, preferably with HDR.

PC is also where you'll first find certain games before they make their way to consoles, like the hugely popular "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds," which is coming out later this year for consoles. Meanwhile, PC gamers have had access to the early access version of the game for months, since early 2017.

In contrast, the PS5 Digital Edition (which lacks a disc drive) is $400, while the standard PS5 is $500. Pricing aside, there are still potential reasons to consider a PS4 if you can't find a PS5 (or don't want to go next-gen yet).

If you're not interested in PlayStation exclusives at all, consider a Nintendo Switch instead. That console launched in 2017, but still offers a lot for the price. You get a system that you can play at home or on the go with a wide variety of first-party Nintendo titles, plus tons of third-party ports and indie games.

Prey is a first-person shooter video game developed by Arkane Austin and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was released worldwide on 5 May 2017, for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One.

Prey was positively reviewed by critics at release and considered one of the best games of 2017 by several gaming magazines and websites. Two expansions were released: Mooncrash, a procedurally-generated mode inspired by various roguelike games, and a multiplayer Typhon Hunter that incorporates the Typhon shapeshifting abilities in a hide-and-seek style game.

Among other works, Prey was influenced by the films Moon, Starship Troopers, and The Matrix. As part of the game's promotion, Bethesda partnered with the Alamo Drafthouse to show these three films during April 2017.[35] Avellone also cited Aliens as part of his inspiration, describing it as an action-suspense film which has moments of comedy, even in the midst of heavy action sequences, and something he reused in writing for Prey.[31]

Prey was released on 5 May 2017.[42] Arkane and Bethesda provided a game demo for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles about a week before the game's launch, covering about the first hour of gameplay. The studio did not opt to provide a demo for Windows systems, citing that they had to choose between either the consoles or personal computer for demo release. Colantonio said that with the game's release through Steam, interested players can try the game for up to two hours under Steam's return policy, effectively treating this the equivalent of a demo.[43] Regardless of this, the Steam version eventually received one.

Critics praised the fully realized atmosphere of Talos I, with some labeling it a "luxurious sci-fi playground".[62] On the other hand, combat proved divisive. GameSpot's Tamoor Hussain found fight sequences "rewarding",[56] while IGN's Dan Stapleton considered combat Prey's "biggest weakness" partly due to periods of AI unresponsiveness.[58] Concerning the story, GameSpot found protagonist Morgan Yu's journey somewhat "thin",[56] and TrustedReviews called the storyline "lacking".[63] Eurogamer ranked the game 12th on their list of the "Top 50 Games of 2017",[64] GamesRadar+ ranked it 11th on their list of the 25 Best Games of 2017,[65] and Polygon ranked it seventh on their list of the 50 best games of 2017,[66] while EGMNow ranked it ninth on their list of the 25 Best Games of 2017.[67] It was nominated for "Best Setting" in PC Gamer's 2017 Game of the Year Awards,[68] for "Best Xbox One Game" in Destructoid's Game of the Year Awards 2017,[69] and for "Best Shooter" in IGN's Best of 2017 Awards.[70]

Fortnite is an online video game developed by Epic Games and released in 2017. It is available in three distinct game mode versions that otherwise share the same general gameplay and game engine: Fortnite Battle Royale, a free-to-play battle royale game in which up to 100 players fight to be the last person standing; Fortnite: Save the World, a cooperative hybrid tower defense-shooter and survival game in which up to four players fight off zombie-like creatures and defend objects with traps and fortifications they can build; and Fortnite Creative, in which players are given complete freedom to create worlds and battle arenas.

Save the World and Battle Royale were released in 2017 as early access titles, while Creative was released on December 6, 2018.While the Save the World and Creative versions have been successful for Epic Games, Fortnite Battle Royale in particular became an overwhelming success and a cultural phenomenon, drawing more than 125 million players in less than a year, earning hundreds of millions of dollars per month. Fortnite as a whole generated $9 billion in gross revenue up until December 2019.

Epic was able to prepare to release Fortnite as a paid early access title in July 2017, with plans to release it as free-to-play sometime in 2019 while gaining feedback from players to improve the game.[10][11][12][13] With the release of Fortnite Battle Royale, the player-versus-environment mode was distinguished as "Save the World". Ultimately, Epic opted to release Save the World as a premium title, bringing it out of early access on June 29, 2020.[14]

Near the same time that Epic released Fortnite into early access, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds had become a worldwide phenomenon, having sold over 5 million copies three months from its March 2017 release, and drawing strong interest in the battle royale genre. Epic recognized that with the Fortnite base game, they could also do a battle royale mode, and rapidly developed their own version atop Fortnite in about two months.[15] By September 2017, Epic was ready to release this as a second mode from "Save the World" in the paid-for earlier access, but then later decided to release it as a free game, Fortnite Battle Royale, supported with microtransactions. This version quickly gained players, with over 10 million players during its first two weeks of release, and leading Epic to create separate teams to continue the Fortnite Battle Royale development apart from the Save the World version, outside of common engine elements and art assets.[16][17] This allowed Fortnite Battle Royale to expand to other platforms otherwise not supported by Save the World, including iOS and Android mobile devices and the Nintendo Switch.[18][19]

In 2017, the game was nominated for "Best Co-op Game" by PC Gamer,[39] and for "Best Spectator Game" by IGN.[40] In 2018, the game won the award for Best Ongoing Game by PC Gamer[41] and IGN,[42] the latter of which nominated it for "Best Nintendo Switch Game", "Best Mobile Game", and "Best Action Game".[43][44][45]

No, the Nintendo Switch is not being discontinued. Nintendo did stop making the 2017 model, but it was immediately replaced by an updated 2019 version. You can also buy the OLED Nintendo Switch, which will continue to be available for the next few years.

Nintendo unveiled the Switch on March 3, 2017. The Nintendo Switch price was $299 at launch, which significantly undercut the prices of the Sony PlayStation 4 ($399 at the time) and matched the then-current price of the Xbox One S. Nintendo has an up-and-down history when it comes to consoles, but the Switch was an instant classic.

After reading the above comparisons between PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, you may have figured out the reasons for buying PS4 Pro instead of Xbox One X. Whatever you choose, our aim is that you can pick a more suitable game console for yourself.

Under the Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act, which Trump signed in August 2017, Turkey faced potential economic sanctions for accepting the Kremlin's missile system. Trump had not yet imposed sanctions on Turkey.

In multiple efforts to deter Turkey from buying the S-400, the State Department offered in 2013 and 2017 to sell the country Raytheon's Patriot missile system. Ankara passed on the Patriot both times because the U.S. declined to provide a transfer of the system's sensitive missile technology.

In June 2021 Nintendo announced the latest hardware revision of the Switch console: the Switch OLED Model. The original Switch launched in March 2017, and if you're a Nintendo fan it's highly likely that you already own a Nintendo Switch or Switch Lite, which begs the question: Should I upgrade to Switch OLED?

There's a reason it's been so successful since launching in 2017, so we'd thoroughly recommend getting involved with Switch, and specifically the new OLED version. The price difference between the standard and OLED models is small enough to make it worth splashing a little extra on the new model, in our opinion. 041b061a72
